Guitar Instruction for your Child

Choosing the right teacher for your child is important.  I have many years of experience working with children, not only as a guitar instructor but also within various community organizations as well as the public school systems.  I teach the tools & techniques that need to be known as a guitar player and from there, I facilitate the growth of your child's natural ability, talent and love for music.  I have classical training but I choose to not focus on classical guitar or use any musical grading system.  I explore various genres with my students and prefer to teach children the music they wish to learn, with the supporting musical theory,  in a fun and supportive environment.  I have an easy rapport with children and really enjoy the process of guiding them in the discovery and development of their musical gifts.  I prefer to teach kids who are at least 8 years old and half hour lessons tend to work best for short attention spans.
The only requirement I have is that your child comes to lessons based on their own expressed desire to learn the guitar or ukulele.  Only then can the true joy of learning an instrument take place.
